Appearance > pace
A specialised number variable that controls the speed of movement animation. It does not affect the speed that the brain runs. A pace of 0 will freeze the character. A pace of 1 is the default speed. It will speed up all emotes on the character, so is not recommended to make a character run faster – choose speed instead.
WHEN [once] DO [pace][=]
The pace tile can be used to quickly skip to a particular part of an emote animation to create a new emote. You can also use pace to quickly get to the end of the animation in one frame – effectively creating an emote interrupt.
Another good use for the pace tile is to make statues. These can be decorative items for scenery, or part of a freezing weapon. Use pace equals 0. Please note that the brains will still be running inside any frozen character, so swap to a blank page with the pace tile in to prevent any unwanted interactions. You may also like to make the object unattackable and immortal, otherwise hits from your player character will cause your “statue” to move one frame as part of a hit reaction.
