Description

This tile allows you to add an animation to a character (currently humanoids only), which will play either a set amount of times or continuously. There are a selection of emote animations available that are pre-made, both in the free pack and in DLC. You can also create your own animation if you are using XboxOne, using the Kinect camera.

To record an animation you use the Recording Studio in the character properties menu or select create Kinect capture after you place the tile emote. The resulting recording will be automatically placed in the brain. To place a saved kinect animation select Objects/gallery picker.

Animations cannot currently be linked to movement. So you cannot create an animation that works on left stick moves, for example skipping or crawling. You can use pace to speed up or slow down or freeze an animation. Animations will play all the way through and cannot be interrupted, but you can use pace to speed to the end in one frame, which will cut the animation short.

Sound recording

As well as recording character movement the kinect will also record sound. You cannot currently separate the two. If you are recording an animation only, make sure the room is silent. If you are recording a sound effect then be aware that your movements will be recorded as well, and may not be suitable to put in your main character.

Example Code

WHEN [once] DO [emote][Cheer]

Other Uses

If you wish to add sound effects to your world only, the option at the moment is to place a Woodland village in your world, Make them non attackable and immortal and invisible and non-collidable. Put your emote kode in there. Emote sounds are a fixed volume.
