Compass and Objective Direction Indicator

Point your player in the right direction with a compass pointer or objective locator.

Working Compass

Place a suitable object for your compass point – the Rock Arrowhead is popular for this.

In it’s brain

WHEN DO [forward][=][north]
WHEN DO [hologram]    //optional
WHEN DO [position][=][IWP:Your character][above]

The compass will always point North, regardless of the camera, and will follow the player above his head.

You can put it on a toggle button for display

WHEN [LT][pressed] DO [toggle][boolvar:compass]
WHEN [boolvar:compass] DO [visible][=][true]
…WHEN [else] DO [visible][=][false]

Objective Direction Indicator

When a quest is given set the global objective variable

WHEN DO [global][objectvar:objective][=][IWP:logic cube at your objective or an object at your objective]

In your compass change to

WHEN [LT][pressed] DO [toggle][boolvar:compass]
WHEN [boolvar:compass][and][global][objvar:objective][not equal to][nothing] DO [visible][=][true]
…WHEN [else] DO [visible][=][false]
WHEN DO [turn][toward][global][objvar:objective][position]
WHEN DO [hologram]    //optional
WHEN DO [position][=][IWP:Your character][above]

When they reach the objective – change the global objective to nothing to turn it off.

WHEN [detect][player] DO [global][objvar:objective][=][nothing]
